The 6th grade science class is a hands-on environment. Students focus on earth science; this includes maps and mapping, plate tectonics, earthquakes, volcanoes, oceans, and oceanography. In addition, we teach students how to work well with other people and how to work well in groups of students.
A culminating activity is the field trip to the Orange County Marine Institute (please read the attached letter about the trip). Students will explore various aspects of oceanography they have learned in the lab in a real world setting.
